His boundless energy, delightful demeanor, and unbridled passion for dance stands above all. Arte would be the first to social dance at any event, and always the last to leave. Everyone has danced with Arte simply because he was so gracious to personally ask. A man of such talent, wisdom and art has touched us all through his expression in dance.
He must know how much he was loved by us all, and what a difference his presence made in the world and out dancing with us. He is an absolute icon, and has left his stamp to say the least. We are all deeply saddened by his loss, but comforted by our memories that live forever.
I am one of those fortunate souls that knew Arte personally, enjoyed him as a roommate at dance events, and loved every minute of tearing up the dance floor with him. One of my fondest memories of Arte was asking him to do Strictly Swing with me at Mad Jam with only a minute notice before going on the floor. He said, "Do I have time to put on my dance shoes and go change my hat?". I said no. He said, "Ok. Let's do it!" and off we went to place 2nd.
Some people choose to rise to the occasion by living their lives to the fullest, and imprint others along the way with their greatness. Arte Phillips is a one-and-only, never-to-be-forgotten soul.

Put on your best dresses and attire and showcase your best dance moves.
Come and enjoy local talents for a splendid evening of entertainment and dancing.

1st Friday California Mix at Ballroom on High in Pottstown

Bob and I can be found tonight (November 7th)at Ballroom on High in Pottstown. They have California mix tonight - Lynne Stevens will be giving a West Coast Swing lesson and Philip Spinka will be the DJ. Philip plays excellent music and has just about every kind of music you can imagine.
